Top Ten Terrible Chicago Jerseys

So my colleague Danny Sheridan strolls in the other day wearing a Nomar Garciaparra T-Shirt jersey. Not only was I turned off by the utterly ridiculous selection of shirts he was wearing, but also because Danny is a self-described White Sox fan who last week wrote a 2,016 word piece on the White Sox 2005 Championship run and how great it was. This goes off on a whole other tangent but I despise "Chicago Fans" pick a team and stick with them. So this one is for Danny...

On a side note when I used to work in a sports apparel shop during the Bears Super Bowl run a man once came in asking for a Roberto Garza jersey. When I kindly explained to him that we only had jerseys of popular players like Grossman, Urlacher, Briggs, Jones and Muhammad the man proceeded to angrily berate me about the lack of selection our tiny store had. So this one is for him as well.

10. Cedric Benson – If you own this jersey and go on a boat then you are in automatic trouble. It’s like wearing a Pacman Jones jersey to a strip club, just stay away.

9. Fred McGriff – The first of the Cubs “washed up superstar rentals” McGriff was first a clown for boycotting the trade and stalling and then sucking when he got to Chicago.

8. LaTroy Hawkins – This guy was fantastic as a setup guy but then had the stomach of a drunk on a roller coaster when he was asked to close. His career has never recovered and neither have the people who spent money on his merchandise.

7. David Wells / Bartolo Colon – Fat frontline starting pitchers who never helped the Sox do jack. At least Freddy Garcia helped us win a title.

6. Cade McNown – Cade not only stoops to the level of being awful, but he once stole Tim Couch’s girl only to lose her back to him. That’s like losing in a motorcycle race to Jay Williams.

5. Jalen Rose – So we traded multiple future all-stars for THIS guy? I mean Jalen is hilarious but those Bulls teams are something I never want to remember again.

4. Eddy Curry / Tyson Chandler – Add the above comment to the fact that neither of these guys ever had the commitment to be good and those years of the Bulls misery is made ten times worse.

3. Kyle Farnsworth – All of the people who bought these jerseys are either chicks who know nothing about baseball or dude’s who enjoy setup pitchers who tackle other dudes.

2. Jay Williams – Being a prominent Duke player and the #2 pick in the draft meant a lot of jersey sales and a lot of very angry customers.

1. Nomar Garciaparra – People bought these jerseys in droves and this guy was ALWAYS hurt. Probably got beat up by his manlier wife too much.

*Editor's Note - These players all disgust me so much that I refuse to even find photos of these morons to display. Screw them for ruining good years and good games.

At this point, I'm kinda surprised the Bears even bother to put names on the back of their QBs and RBs jerseys.

Ricky, this is very true...I hate Blauser with the heat of a thousands suns...but that is a different topic...Scott, yes a McGriff jersey is just retarted but he did hit 30 HRs and have over 100 RBI for the Cubs in 2002. And for his 195 game career in a Cubs uniform he hit 42 HRs and drove in 144. Not too shabby for a guy who "[sucked]when he got to Chicago"
